Siemon, a leading provider of network infrastructure solutions, has expanded its LightHouse portfolio of fiber solutions with LightStack 8. This new ultra high-density solution provides efficient and cost-effective support for both current and future applications based on 8 fiber optics.LightStack 8 provides a simple and efficient migration path to 40 and 100 Gb/s speeds for switch-to-switch solutions in data centers.This allows them to support applications that demand faster data transfer rates, more powerful data processing, and greater data storage.These requirements are very topical now that Internet of Things applications are generating ever larger sets of data.But storage-intensive cloud applications also require more and more capacity.The new solution from Siemon supports current 40 and 100 Gigabit multimode applications as well as future 200 and 400 Gigabit applications using 8 fibers.LightStack 8 thus offers a complete end-to-end solution for Base 8 applications.It enables 100 percent utilization of the available fibers, so that these types of '8 fiber applications' can be facilitated in a very efficient way.The new system consists of 1U and 4U panels, modules, adapters, assemblies and jumpers.In a 1U there is room for 144 LC fibers or 864 MTP fibres.A 4U solution can handle 576 LC fibers or 3456 MTP fibres.This makes LightStack 8 very suitable for ultra high-density applications, for which there is a great need in data centers due to a lack of space.Network ports are easily accessible thanks to tools such as cable management clips on the front and sliding mechanisms on the rear.Cable management has become very simple as a result, even in the often very cramped workspaces in a data center.The fibers are protected with magnetically lockable doors, while the production line is also standard equipped with solutions that prevent fibers from being under too much tension after connection.The product line also includes low-loss modules that convert one Base 8 MTP into four duplex LC connectors.Also provided are MTP pass-through adapters that support 40 Gb/s or 100 Gb/s applications.Pass-through adapters for LC to duplex applications are also included in the program.These modules and adapters can be quickly and easily installed or removed from both the front and rear of the cabinets.The LightStack 8 system also includes Base 8 plug and play MTP trunk assemblies, MTP jumpers and hybrid cables for connection to the backbone or network equipment.The new LightStack 8 is available in low-loss OM4 multimode and OS1/OS2 single mode and uses RazorCore fiber optics.This makes this product line very suitable for applications that require a very small diameter of the cable assemblies.An MTP jumper with a diameter of 2 mm can also be used here.The program also includes Base 8 MTP to LC hybrid assemblies that can serve as an alternative to modules that support 10 Gb/s and 4x 10 Gb/s Base 8 MTP to LC BladePatch assemblies that feature the well-known push-pull mechanism.
