MTP-based fiber optic solutions that support 40/100 Gb/s provide up to 144 fibers per rack installation space, while providing innovative cable and connection management functions, eliminating installation and maintenance associated with most high-density fiber optic systems challenge

Watertown, Connecticut (PRWEB)-Simon, the world's leading fiber optic network infrastructure expert, is pleased to announce his new LightStack™ ultra-high-density fiber optic plug-and-play system. Simon’s LightStack end-to-end fiber optic system combines superior performance and density with unparalleled accessibility in a stylish, modern chassis that can easily support today’s advanced data center and storage area network environments, while providing fast and seamless Migrate to advanced 40 and 100 Gb applications.

LightStack has an innovative, patent-pending rack mount enclosure that can accommodate 144 LC fibers or 864 MTP fibers in a single rack unit. Its revolutionary horizontal cable management can handle traditional and single-tube jumpers, and has an easy-to-unlock, rotatable management clip that allows full access to the jumper. The innovative rotating cable fixing point at the rear of the housing maintains the proper bending radius.

Compared to any other high-density fiber optic housings on the market, LightStack's rear bottom tray slides inward for easy access to connections, while the housings are stacked on top of each other. In the external position, the rear tray acts as a cable divider between stacked cabinets. The low-loss plug-and-play module can also be easily inserted or removed from the front or rear of the housing. The visually attractive easy-to-open magnetic door eliminates harmful pinch points and provides high-visibility pull-down labels.

The ultra-thin LightStack LC-to-MTP low-loss plug-and-play module is available in OM4 multi-mode and single-mode versions, providing the industry's lowest 0.35dB loss performance for flexible fiber channels. The LightStack low-loss 0.2dB MTP pass-through adapter is fully ready to support 40 and 100 Gb applications, offers 2, 4 and 6 port designs, and provides alignment and opposite key directions to accommodate all polarity methods. Unlike other fiber optic solutions on the market, LightStack also supports 12-core LC pass-through adapter boards for current 10 Gb Ethernet or Fibre Channel SAN applications.

"As today’s high-density data centers move from 10 to 40 and 100 Gb speeds, they require low-loss fiber optic connections to support multiple paired connections to provide flexible patch cord options over a wide range of distances and configurations, while Stay within the link loss budget. At the same time, these connections need to be easy to access and manage in order to make changes quickly and efficiently,” explains Charlie Maynard, fiber optic product manager at Simon's Global Headquarters. "With first-class superior features, our new LightStack ultra-high-density fiber optic system has unique advantages that can overcome current and future fiber optic connection challenges."

For backbone links, the LightStack optical fiber system includes next-generation and traditional MTP trunk cables, which can be used for OM3 and OM4 bend-insensitive multi-mode fibers and single-mode fibers. Simon's LC BladePatch uses Simon's revolutionary push-pull guide design, which perfectly complements the ultra-high density of the new LightStack system and further improves accessibility. LightStack is ideal for connecting to active devices from interconnection or cross-connection (such as in SAN applications), and also provides LC BladePatch® to MTP hybrid trunk cables for precise control and easy insertion and removal. LC BladePatch patch cords and trunks are designed with smaller diameter single-tube cables, which can reduce cable channel congestion, improve air flow and increase energy efficiency, while simplifying overall cable management. The low-loss 12-core LC BladePatch® to MTP hybrid trunk cable provides multi-mode and single-mode and various interleaving lengths to support a variety of active devices including Cisco Nexus, Cisco MDS and Brocade.
