This state-of-the-art connector design brings unparalleled density, simple insertion/unplugging, field configurability and the best carrier-grade performance to the ELiMENT® brand single-fiber connector product portfolio, thus creating two A new era of fiber optic connections.

MDC is a dual fiber connector manufactured using the proven 1.25 mm ferrule technology used in industry standard LC connectors. The three-port MDC adapter is installed directly into the standard panel opening of the duplex LC adapter, which increases the fiber density by a factor of three. Supporting the port branch architecture of the emerging transceiver MSA, the smaller size will allow a single array transceiver to accept multiple MDC jumpers, which can be directly accessed individually at the transceiver interface. The new format will support four independent MDC cables in the QSFP package and two independent MDC cables in the SFP package.

The insertion and extraction of the MDC connector is achieved by simply pushing or pulling the flexible and robust strain relief cover, thereby providing functional density in a very narrow space. For faster and error-free installation, the optional aggregation component will allow multiple MDC connectors to be inserted and removed at once. The polarity of the MDC connector can be easily changed in the field or in the factory to support a variety of wiring methods, without tools, and without exposing or twisting the thin optical fibers. 

The MDC connector is designed for optimal stability and exceeds Telcordia GR-326 requirements for operators or data center applications.
